If the first note still triggers the previous articulation after a playback jump or automation breakpoint, the gap between sending the articulation parameters and the musical notes is not long enough. Increase the delay time.

Hardware instruments in particular may require additional time to load a new program, but depending on your system (e.g. audio interface buffer size) and Ableton version, VSTs may also benefit from a longer delay.

Note: Make sure that Ableton’s Chase MIDI Notes option is enabled.
